Resant welding inverters: SAI, SAI PN, SAI K, reviews, prices, operation
The Resanta brand has a Baltic origin - the company is registered in Latvia. The factories that have become commonplace are located in China. Welding inverters of several lines are supplied to the Russian market:
- Resant SAIPA semiautomatic devices.
- Resant SAI welding inverters.
- Inverters operating at reduced voltage AIS PN.
- Units with the function of argon-arc welding SAI AD.
- Professional ruler with adjustable arc SAI PROF.
- Line "Compact" - SAI-K.
- Inverter plasma cutter - IPR.
- Inverter welding, operating from 380 V - SAI 315.
The products, according to reviews, are generally not bad, with their pros and cons. If you need a welding machine for home use, "Resanta" is quite a worthy choice. As the pros say: its arc is not as heavy as that of other brands from the same price category. But the quality is unstable: for someone under constant load (in workshops and in production) it works for years, and someone every two or three weeks (also in production) takes it to repair. Only industries and welders are different. And those who operate Resant's welding inverters for domestic purposes - in a private house, in the countryside, in a garage - speak positively about the operation of the units.
The working mode of welding machines of any line is 70% to 30%. Which means that when working at 140 A, you can cook / cut 7 out of 10 minutes, and 3 will have to rest - wait until the apparatus cools down. The ratio is not the worst and the mode is generally comfortable.

How to choose a Resanta welding machine
For domestic use, it makes sense to choose a unit from two lines - AIS and AIS PN.
Resanta SAI is a standard modification that operates at 220 V in the network with slight deviations. The declared range is + 10% (up to 242 V) and -30% (from 154 V). It seems that such characteristics should be enough, but in reality it works normally at 190 V. If it falls even lower, problems begin and you have to put electrodes of a smaller diameter.
In rural areas, the voltage is often below 190 V. With such network parameters, not all welding machines can work normally. If you have such a situation, you need to choose an inverter from the AIS PN range. It welds normally even at 140-160 V.
There is one more line - "Compact". It is even smaller and weighs a kilogram and a half less. When models of this line are designated, the letter "K" is assigned to the figure indicating the maximum welding current. If weight and size are critical for you, choose a welding inverter from this line.
All others are more suitable for professional or semi-professional use. For domestic use, their "bells and whistles" and increased power are useless. If you can buy them, then they are no longer new to welding.
Model selection
After you have decided on the ruler, you need to select the maximum welding current. It is put down in the name of each model after the abbreviation SAI. For example, SAI-160 - maximum welding current 160 A, SAI 220 - can produce 220 A.
How to choose the power? Based on the work for which you are purchasing or for the size of the electrode that you prefer to work with. For example, 140 and 160 ampere devices are suitable for working with 3 mm electrodes. But 140 will work at the limit, and 160 in normal mode. You can also consider purchasing a 190, but it can already work with 4 mm electrodes. And the power reserve is always good. True, you have to pay extra for it.
More powerful models SAI 220 and 250 can work with 5 mm and 6 mm electrodes, respectively. If you do not need such capacities, then there is no need to pay for them. But the choice, as always, is up to you. Maybe you prefer to work with a 3 mm electrode but with an increased welding current - 190 and above ... Rarely, but there are also such welders.
To make it easier to choose, the table contains the most important characteristics of Resant's welding inverters of the SAI and SAI PN, and SAI K.

Power supply for Resant inverters
The main advantage of these welding machines is that they operate from a 220 V household power supply without any special requirements. The main thing is that the socket is grounded. The protection class for all units is IP 21, which means that the unit is grounded via the power cord. Therefore, to protect against electrical shock, you must power the inverter from a grounded outlet.
SAI-160 works fine on machines 10-16 A, but you can't put the maximum welding current on ten-ampere machines. If you plan to operate the SAI 190, you will need at least a 16 A machine gun.
Reviews
All reviews about Resant's inverter welding machines can be roughly divided: before 2012 and after. Until the age of 12, all the reviews are very good, and not from beginners, but from those who use welding in their professional activities. Further it gets worse. In 2012, the price of these devices fell significantly - almost by half. It seems good, but, as it turned out, the quality also dropped significantly. After this date, there are different reviews, although positive ones still prevail.
In our workshop Resanta 250 (SAI), I worked every day for a year, until someone attached her legs. There were no complaints about the work, only the cables were short. Therefore, they bought a new one the same. This one, after 3 months, just stopped cooking at one point. The service did not ask questions, just repaired and that's it. Now everything is fine, we are working like an adult. Except for cables, no complaints.

I am a technologist and I am responsible for purchasing tools. We needed an inverter for the welders - they worked as a transformer, so I decided not to buy an expensive one for now - suddenly it won't go with them, so I bought Resanta SAI 250. For two years of hard work, not a single problem. The transformer is now standing, and this one is always busy. It is used by both specialists and those who have only seen how to work normally. Nothing, plows. They say with Resanta - a lottery. We seem to have drawn a good ticket. We just replaced the welded cables - they installed 10-meter cables with a cross-section of 25 mm2: the previous five-meter cables were inconvenient.

Repaired for the fourth time ... Resanta 220 I have. All previous repairs were enough for two weeks of work. The last time I repaired it by pull (rolled over) in another service. They put, as they said, a normal fee. Worked for a month, while it is normal. Previously, I sinned on the quality of the device, now I'm at a loss, can this service be? Putting fig parts for me to pay? Evil is not enough.

I have Resant 190. I have been working with it from time to time for three years. Everything is fine, you only need to set the minimum welding current when turning on and off, as prescribed in the instructions. It's easy for me, and I do it. I also periodically clean it from dust. This is critical for such devices.
Vitaly Sergeevich, Sergiev Posad
Resanta 220 has been working for me for three years already. It works. For all the time I have only changed the cooler. But I clean it regularly, I try not to cut it, I don't give it to the wrong hands. I don’t work with a grinder or a grinder next to welding - there is a lot of dust from them, and it is very harmful for inverters. If you need to work with a grinder, I take out Resantu. If all this is a burden to you, look for another device. There are Europeans, they are not so demanding on working conditions, but they cost several times more, and even with our dancing spirits they do not want to work. So if you need a European working in our conditions, you also buy a stabilizer. Something like this.

Resant is not a welding machine, but a bunch of g ... a. I'm tired of carrying it around for repairs. It breaks down constantly. He just stops cooking and that's it. I'll take another one.

Bought Resantu SAI 190 in May 2014. In November, she welled up. The warranty workshop said that there was a lot of metal dust, and therefore it burned out. They wanted to reduce it to a non-warranty repair (at my expense), but after a dispute they repaired it under warranty. Now I shore it. But I don't know how it will work next.

As you can see, positive reviews about Resat Sai prevail, although there is a negative one. From the operating experience, some conclusions can be drawn regarding how to make the welding work without problems.
Operation of Resant welding inverters
In the operating instructions for these welding machines, the requirements and recommendations are as follows:
- Do not use a grinder, electric saws, grinders and other tools near the unit, which generate a large amount of dust.
- Do not cover the case during operation: forced cooling - by coolers (fans). If you close the air supply, the unit will overheat and may burn out.
- Do not work in wet areas or in the rain.
- If you brought the inverter into a warm room from frost, you must wait at least two hours for the condensation to dry out.
Inclusion order
Before turning on the machine, check that the switch is in the off position. Connect the power cable and workers, plug it into an outlet. Set the minimum welding current on the regulator, then press the "on" button. The shutdown is carried out as follows: first, twist it to a minimum, then turn it off with the toggle switch, and then from the network. When finished, disconnect the wires and put them back in place.
When unrolling cables, or using an extension cord, make sure that all wires are fully unrolled and do not cross. Do not leave cables coiled in coils: an inductor is created that negatively affects the equipment.
Practical advice
Resant Sai inverters have overheating protection. It automatically turns off the device when the temperature approaches critical. But it is better not to bring it to shutdown. Work in intermittent mode: cook for 7 minutes, let the unit cool down for 3-5 minutes. You do not need to turn it off for these intervals.
There is no need to turn off the power when turning off due to overheating. Just wait 5-7 minutes. Do not turn it off even if you have a short break in your work: the less often you turn on the equipment, the longer it will serve. Inrush currents, although eaten by the "soft start" function, have a bad effect on this kind of equipment. Therefore, turn off the inverter only if the break is more than an hour.
If you want Resanta Sai to work normally, periodically clean the insides of dust. Especially if you worked close to a dust source or after a long downtime.
Cook the stainless steel Resant on reverse polarity.
If you are going to lengthen work cables, increase their diameter, the voltage will drop less. If you put it at 10 meters - the section is preferably 25mm2.
Practical advice on repairing Resant's welds
If you have the skill of such work, then the schemes laid out below will help you. There are also a few recommendations based on DIY experience.
After a year and a half of operation, Resant 220 began to shut down due to overheating if it was operated at currents of more than 140 A. The warranty ended, it was useful to watch it myself. The only thing was that the input cable was poorly pulled. By the way, he was worn out - he worked every day for a year and a half. The cable was replaced, the terminals were tightened in a non-feminine manner, and I also vacuumed it.

I bought myself a Resanta 250 Prof. The seam holds perfectly, cooks gently. I like. But only after a month of work (1 kg of troika per day, but not always, it happened even less), after the cotton inside, he died. Renovated, waited 45 days. After the repair, a breakdown happened a month later. It happens if the electrical wire is not clamped in the holder. I didn't want to wait another 45 days, I did it myself. There the wires were almost not bolted to the board. Only baited. And how did the service providers look? Or are they a specialist? The board piece is burnt out. I soldered the wire to the terminal, screwed it on. Works. True, at subzero temperatures, the indicator now shows something unthinkable, but it works.
Vitaly, Krasnodar
My Resanta SAI 220, after a month of working in a troika, stopped showing signs of life. Opened, checked, two transistors FGH40N60SFD burned out. I found them, bought them, changed all four, even though two burned out. At the same time, I replaced the 12 W resistor with 51 Ohm. Earned it, but not for long. The transistors burned after several switches. Apparently, we got a defective batch. I bought others, installed it, it works fine. Yes. To my 220, the scheme from 250 came more - with minor mismatches. What can I say, the board is made ok, the tracks are not flaking. Though it pleases. Although the parts could be tested before being put into production.

Resant welding masks
It is impossible to work with welding without a welder's mask - you will immediately get a retinal burn, which is called a "bunny". Light filters protect the eyes from damage by infrared and ultraviolet radiation. From flying splashes and scale - mask body. Both must be reliable and provide maximum protection.
Resanta produces several types of welding masks:
- MS-1 - with an automatic liquid crystal filter TSK-3201. There are two modes: welding and grinding, dimming control, which allow you to use the mask both for welding and as a protective shield when working with a grinder or other similar tools. The price is 1500-1800 rubles.
- MS-2 - with TCK-4000 light filter. There are three adjustments: the degree of dimming, sensitivity, delay time (how quickly it works when the brightness of the light changes). Dimming step change. The price is 1900-2100 rubles.
- MS-3 - TCK-3202 light filter, the adjustments are the same as in MS-2, but the transparency of the filter is smoothly changed. Also, a different adjustment range for Resant MC-3 is 9-13DIN, for Resant MC-2 it is 10-12DIN. The price is 2600-2800 rubles.
- MS-4 is the cheapest (price 1200-1400 rubles) and the simplest mask. Light filter TSK-2101. It works only at positive temperatures, even with a slight decrease it starts to "slow down".
All the main technical characteristics of the masks of the Resant MC welder are given in the table.

Several schemes of welding inverters:
I really like the work of my 220th Resant, a soft arc, excellent ignition of the electrode, in general, only positive emotions when working. The only thing is that I immediately replaced the welding cables with longer, copper 7.5 meters. Among friends and acquaintances who have Resants, none of them do not complain about this brand of inverter.
I have a 190th model of Resanta, I don't know, as for me, this is the most normal option for a house / summer residence. The higher ones are for professionals, and the weaker ones, well, xs we can and they will be liked by someone. My inverter suits me. I would add longer wires so that you can not twitch and carry the device with you constantly, but these are little things in life.
I have a RESANT SAI-160. When buying, there were doubts about the power, but I did not plan to use electrodes with a diameter of more than 4 mm, so I decided not to overpay for a more powerful model. As shown by three years of operation, I was not mistaken in the choice, the SAI-160 is quite enough for my needs. However, I will clarify that, as a rule, profiles of various sections with a wall thickness of up to 3 mm have to be welded.
I connect the device using an old-fashioned carrier with thin veins, which plugs into a regular outlet. An automatic machine was installed only for 10 A, during operation it was never knocked out.
at work we have more powerful and hyper-known brands, I will not even name them so as not to shock people. But I will say this, for work - mb, but for household needs the 220th Resant is quite enough. At least I have it. I cook steadily once a week, sometimes even more often. Che, your house, you have to. I have been using it for several years now, there was not a single catch
Is there a resant 250 k scheme? I can not find.
